2004 Coro Mendocino
Just opened this bottle tonight to do my taste test. This is definitely a bold wine. It’s strong, and yet lean at the same time. It sits with you as you sip it and taste the jammy of the Zinfandel grapes. It’s a very smooth wine and an excellent blend of some of my favorite grapes. (see Snapmama’s comments below).
This would be great with a pork tenderloin on the grill.

Um… I seriously LOVE this wine. It begins a bit tight, but opens up well as you drink it. At first I could really pull out the Zinfandel but the further I got in the other varietals began to come forward. The spice of the Syrah shines through and although the Petit Sirah takes a backseat, it still a very important player that adds to the magnificent mouthfeel. I don’t think I have had a California blend that offers such variety of flavor and complexity. Cheers to the Coro! This wine is on fast track to become one of my all time favorites!
