McDowell 2003 Syrah
Um….first word….”wow”. Upon smelling a berry nose, I took a sip and it just slid across my tongue. This is a fantastic wine, extremely smooth. It has a smoky finish to it as well.
I would highly recommend this fantastic Syrah from McDowell. This would go great with just about anything, either fish or pork would pair well.

MamaChef, I totally agree. I am not typically a Syrah fan but this one rocked the little dinner party I attended last night. I tasted dense berry, chocolate and spice. IMO, many syrah producers hit their wines with a bit too much toast resulting in a campfire flavor rather than fruit. None of it here, I LOVED it. And to think, only $25!?!

3 out of 3 mamas agree! This Syrah is a happy surprise. Well balanced but firm, it presents is a lovely blend of mature fruit and smoked hardwood. Yes please.
